PRO of CharterHouse organizers of Vodafone Music Awards(VGMA), Robert Klah has explained that any song that features Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are not eligible that’s why Stevie Wonder by Wendy Shay was not nominated even though it was one of the hit songs topping most song charts.
In an interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz hosted by Andy Dosty he stated that songs that have Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are not eligible and can not be nominated.
“Songs that featured Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were not eligible for nominations in the VGMA because those acts have been banned from the scheme, hence, Wendy Shay’s song which has Shatta Wale on it was not nominated”, he explained.
He further added that the issue about the collaboration, have two sides, it is meant to consider not just one artistes rather if one of the artistes is illegible to participate, they wouldn’t get a nomination.
