Nana Akufo-Addo Wins 2020 Ghana Presidential Elections

The electoral commission of the Republic of Ghana has finally declared Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo the winner of the Ghana election 2020.

The chairperson of the electoral commission, Jean Adukwei Mensa, sat in her seat at exactly 5:40 pm at the Accra International Conference Center which hosted the declaration of the results. The results have always been declared at the office of the electoral commission.

The electoral commission admitted few challenges during the voting and collation of the results and both the constituency levels and the regional regional levels. She acknowledged the presence of the European Union observers and the abled guest of the day.

Jean Adukwei Mensa praised Ghanaians for the corporation. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had 6, 730, 473 representing 51% and John Dramani Mahama pulled a total of 6, 241, 889 representing 47%.

After the collation of the results from the 275 constituencies and the 16 regions, the total valid vote casts were 13, 434, 577 which represented 79% of the total voters registered.

The outcome of the 2020 Ghana presidential elections exclude that of Techiman Constituency which will have no significance on the outcome of the results.
