Most Ghanaian Artistes Are Not Serious – DJ Nat Bubu Fires

Award-winning Ghanaian disc jockey, DJ Nat Bubu has written a letter to those who are complaining that Nigerian songs are having more airplay than Ghanaian songs in Ghana.

Few days ago, Nigerian singer Dammy Krane lamented on this issue on Twitter and advised Ghanaians to support their own.

Addressing this issue, DJ Nat Bubu has disclosed why the DJs and presenters are refusing to play Ghainaian music in a letter received by wysepromotions.com.

He wrote;

“Those saying Naija songs are being played more than Ghana songs. My question is;

Have you not noticed most of our Ghanaian artistes are not serious and business minded?.

A nigerain can pay a DJ or a pressnter to play his or her songs five times a day because he or she believes it’s business so he or she has to spend to sell the music to the people.

Ghanaian artistes will not brand themselves well. Secondly, they will not pay you to sell their songs. Thirdly, they will look down on you the DJ after the promotion and you are here saying he (DJ) should play Ghanaian songs.

If most of our artistes change thier character and do good music we will play their songs. If not we will promote few that are serious and we will remain the same.

Besides don’t forget we the DJs and presenters too have family members to feed and we are doing business too”.

DJ Nat Bubu is currently working with Mankessim-based Kingdom 106.1 FM and also artiste manager at Crew Cut Entertainment.
