The Increase Of The Coronavirus Cases In Ghana Is Due To The Aggressive Mass Testing - President Akufo-Addo

The President of the Republic of Ghana His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo has disclosed that the increased numbers of the coronavirus cases is due to the aggressive mass testing through the contact mass data testing to stop the fast spread of the pandemic.

The president made this known in a seventh address of the nation on the 19/04/2020.

“The increased numbers in the confirmed cases of the coronavirus are due to the aggressive mass testing done in our various labs to help curb the fast spread of the coronavirus in the country from the mass contact testing data”, he stated.

The president added that in view of the aggressive mass contact tracing 1.5 percent which is 14 percent have tested positive and 99 percent have tested negative to the coronavirus and however to maintain the rate the is the need to upgrade our facilities and workers to help fight this pandemic inorder to win over this pandemic.

“We have employed the use of the drones to help transport blood samples to our various labs i.e . Noguchi, Komfo Anokye, Korle Bu that will aid in the testing and discovery of the percentage of the affected and the non affected to help aid the fast treatment and fast recoveries , we have recorded 99 recoveries and a total number of 834 cases with a total number of 9 deaths but in order to stop the fast spread we need self discipline and adhering to the preventive measures directed by the Health Sector and the World Health Organization (WHO)”, he advised.
