About 24 hours ago, Kofi Kinaata and his Team Move through a statement announced the cancellation of Made in Taadi 2022 to the disappointment of his fans, music lovers and the entertainment fraternity of the Western region.
The reasons for these expressions of disappointment are not far-fetched. The annual Made in Taadi concert even though a private event by #TeamMove has metamorphosed into a regional program which has arrested the hearts and minds of the people of the West. This is because it is somewhat an annual reward to the Kinaata fans in the Western Region for their enormous support year round.
It is not difficult to tell that Kofi Kinaata has had a great year. In the year under review he has been a very busy artiste, globetrotting, playing shows in the USA, UK, Germany, Ghana, just to mention a few. It is therefore shockingly disappointing to learn that Kofi Kinata still decided to sell all his slots in December, making it impossible to honor his own promise to his core fan base, who have held him down since day1. Even worse is that this is happening at a time when the Regional Administration has taken deliberate steps to make Sekondi-Takoradi the preferred destination to celebrate Christmas, with Kofi Kinaata’s Made In Tadi concert as one of its selling points.
What will Ghana think about Takoradi when they honor our invitation to spend Christmas in Takoradi, only to find that our ‘Asamoah Gyan has decided to play over the bar’ even though he would spend time in Takoradi regardless. What is really preventing Kofi Kinaata from putting together the Made In Taadi Concert? Is it the case that he has now decided to trade his own event, one in which he has invested much to cement an annual event in Takoradi, in order to play a show somewhere else for money?
Why will Kofi Kinata stab us in the back at this crucial time when the region has mounted a campaign for everybody to come to the region for the Yuletide?.
